WELCOME TO VIVEKANANDA COLLEGE

The Sole Aim Which Prompted The Establishment Of This Institution And The Scope.

Vivekananda College of Technology facilitates Vocational & Technical Education to the school leavers, since 2012. As the achievement, College has succeeded on awarding more than 1000s’ of Trainers with NVQ Certificates. And also, it is really proud of obtaining QMS certificates which itself a certificate about Quality Management System as well (QMS).

In addition to that, service continues not only on providing Vocational Trainings, but also authorised with short term special courses to the employees/ workers, Training on language empowerment, Career Guidance Services and other related services.

The sole aim of providing opportunity and assistance to the marginalized youth who are deprived of opportunity in the selected divisions of Batticaloa, for accessibility and acquisition of knowledge on basic computer literacy and subsequent upgrading of their living standard prompted the establishment of this institution. Accordingly the define scope of the institutions is that of transformation of marginalized youth Into youth with the knowledge of computer literacy in order to have access for better future, through implementation of Technical and Vocational Education and Training programs for marginalized who are unskilled and unemployed, particularly the youth, those who are parentless or single parented, living under poverty line besides those who are differently abled, in the selected divisions of Manmunai South Eruvilpattu-Kaluwanchikkudy, Porathivupattu- Vellaveli, Manmunai West- Pattipalai and Manmunaipattu – Arayampathy in Batticaloa district.

MISSION

Transformation of marginalized youth in to skilled and competent for socio economic development, adapting an employment focused, gender sensitized and nationally recognized, Technical and Vocational Education and Training delivery system, to meet with the industrial demand, and thereby contributing to the economic development.

OBJECTIVES OF THE INSTITUTION

To provide opportunity for deprived of opportunity (School dropouts, economically disadvantaged, differently abled, parentless or single parented), for strengthening their life for socio economic developed status, through skill and competency provision, by implementing the Technical and Vocational Education and Training , with national recognition .

To transform the unemployed youth to productive level with skills and competency for economic developing stage in their life, accordingly 140 marginalized and deprived of opportunities are to be provided with skills and competency every year, and empowered for economic development in order to effect a change in their life.

To focus on employment oriented training delivery to the target population and ensure that the skill and competency developed in adherence to NVQ frame work to meet with the requirement of employers in the relevant industries, for employment provision.

To develop the institutional capacity for sustainable programme implementation.

Provision of equal opportunities for female in all the TVET courses conducted and in staff recruitment.

Identifying and establishing at least two numbers of production/ service units for diversified income generation for sustainability, by utilizing the already passed TVET graduates and with the donor financial support.
